Cooperative Weed Management Program

Cooperative Weed Management Program

The Red Lake County Cooperative Weed Management Program (CWMP) is a cost-sharing program intended to control emerging weed threats and manage invasive species that may endanger natural areas and conservation land in Red Lake County. The objective of the program is to foster and maintain strong partnerships to administer invasive species management across the state of Minnesota through facilitating the removal of invasive plant species and restoration of native plant communities.

The CWMP provides 75% cost-share assistance, up to $500, for the procurement of chemical to eradicate invasive species. The cost-share agreement needs to be completed and approved by the Soil and Water Conservation District before any work is done or chemicals are purchased in order to receive reimbursement.
